Swedish & Deep Tissue

Learn more about the modalities that play a key role in most sessions.

Swedish

Swedish massage uses a combination of gliding, kneading, compression, rocking, & friction. Together these techniques can bring more relaxation & ease to our tissues.

It is important to warm up your tissues before doing deeper work - otherwise your body can brace (tense) in response

thus Swedish and deep tissue go hand in hand

Deep Tissue

I often get asked "do you do deep tissue massage?" And to that I ask, "what does deep tissue mean to you?"

I do not have separate "deep tissue" button when you're scheduling your massage. And this is not because I don't believe in deep tissue work. It is because I like to talk with clients and make a plan together for your session so that we can use the techniques best suited for your issues.

Because to really work deep into your tissues, we have more tools in our toolbox than just very firm pressure.

Effective deep tissue works with your body using techniques aimed at the specific causes of tension and pain.
